Herman House began as a creative outlet for Sarah and Adam Oates in 2011 when renovating a 1920's craftsman bungalow in San Diego. Over the next 10 years, they began a family and moved back home to California's Central Coast to pursue their dream of raising their family near family and  lifelong friends. Part of this dream included starting Herman House to provide a boutique design and construction management firm that would allow them to share their passion for design and their combined project management experience.

Adam has over 20 years experience in commercial construction and design with the majority of that focused on facility and infrastructure projects for local, state, and federal government agencies. He has combined this experience with a passion to create one of a kind projects to establish Herman House and provide construction and design management services to a wide variety of clients in both the residential and commercial sectors. 

Sarah began her career in the Corporate Events Design and Management industry throughout Southern California. This experience gives her a unique perspective to showcase her ability to create spaces that combine visual interest with a focus on gathering, which has become a main principle Herman House utilizes in their design.

Our goal is to create harmony throughout the design and construction process with a focus on creating something to be enjoyed for years to come.
